Judah's First Road Trip

Over the weekend of June 12th-14th...we went up to Flagstaff with some good friends of ours, the Barretts. It was Judah's first road trip, and he did great. He pretty much slept the entire way up, and then again the entire way home on Sunday. We stayed at Stacy's Aunt's cabin. It was a great time of relaxing and enjoying the beautiful cool air. We got to dress Judah in some of his footie pajamas and in hats and socks, etc. (Down in Phoenix, it's just too warm for all that stuff.) On Saturday we went for a hike up on Snowbowl...and Nathan got to use the "Baby Bjorn" for the first time. We had a lot of fun! Here are a couple of pictures from that weekend.

Pictures from June

Enjoy all these pictures of our precious son. (We have taken way too many to actually post them all here...but these are some of my favorites!) These were all taken throughout the month of June...

Judah just hanging out in his bouncy seat...

Our close friends...the Barretts...brought their boys over to visit Judah...or as Will says..."Baby Doo-dah!" They both wanted to hold him and kiss him, and yes...touch his nose and eyes, etc! They were so cute with him!

One morning, before I put Judah back to bed...I laid him next to Nathan. You can tell, he loves being next to his daddy...he's smiling even as he's falling asleep!

Such a happy baby!!

Judah's Great-Aunt Janet...

Judah loves sitting with Daddy!

Daddy was supposed to keep Judah awake, and I came back to find this. Doesn't look like Daddy did his job too well! Judah just thinks he can get away with things when Mommy isn't around! :-)

Enjoying his floor gym...

Remember these pictures from his first bath...

Now here is a picture of him just a couple of days ago (Look at how much he's grown!)...

2 Month Check-up

I apologize for being so bad at posting on my blog as of late. I have been meaning for weeks to get pictures on here, but just haven't found the time. The times I have to do things are during Judah's naps...and during those times I try to get a lot of things done. Between working out, getting a shower and getting ready, running errands, cleaning the house, doing laundry, planning and cooking dinner and taking care of other tasks...posting on my blog fell by the wayside. So, after this post, I will post lots of pictures and some videos from the last month...the month of June.

Today, Judah had his 2 month check up. Technically, he's not two months old till July 2nd, but he is 8 weeks old tomorrow...so it was close enough. He is doing good, and the pediatrician said he is the "Picture of Health"!!

He was 11 pounds 8 ounces and 23 1/4 inches long. WOW!!! He sure is doing a good job growing! He is starting to get some baby chub and is definitely getting much bigger. He is in the 69th Percentile for his Height and in the 54th Percentile for his weight. You will see in the pictures that I will post after this that he is definitely getting bigger! (As you bloggers out there know...the pictures that will follow, will actually be "ABOVE" this post.)

He also got his first vaccinations today...and had to get quite a lot of them. He had to get 3 shots, that had a combo of vaccines in them. He litterally only cried for a few seconds each time he got stuck...and it was the quick scream/pain cry, and then I picked him up and he was done. He is such a good boy!!!

He is such a joy to us! We are having so so so much fun with him. He is so alert and curious. He loves to look all around. He is starting to love watching the lights and objects above him when he lays in his floor gym. He talks to the animals that hang above his swing, and he laughs and smiles at the animals in the mobile above his crib. When he is laying on the changing table getting his diaper changed, he talks and smiles at the elephant hanging on the wall above him. He is such a good boy and has such a fun personality. He is smiling and talking all the time now and only cries when he has a reason...tired, hungry or bored. I am SOOO blessed that he is not fussy or in any way having problems with colic or acid reflux. He hardly ever spits up and eats like a champ!

He is doing so great on his schedule as well! I absolutely 100% believe in the "Babywise" book and method. We have started this from day one and it's a lot of hard work and you have to be willing to let your baby cry when you put him down or when they wake up in the middle of their nap (we don't let him cry longer than 10 or 15 minutes). The benefits are, now, if he cries, he only does for a couple of minutes and puts himself to sleep, or will wake up and only cry for a minute or a couple of minutes and put himself back to sleep. Most of the time now, he doesn't even cry when we put him down, even when we put him down wide awake. He is also sleeping almost through the night now. We feed him at 9:30pm and put him down about 10pm or 10:15pm and he sleeps till 5am. This morning he went till 5:10am...It is AWESOME!! Then I will feed him and put him right back down and he sleeps till 8am. When I go back to work, which is next week :-( - I will do his 5am feeding, and then put him back down and I will stay awake so I can work out, have my quiet time, and then shower and get ready and then take him to his babysitter's by 8am. (I will miss that second nap, but that's life!) At least I get about 6 - 6 1/2 hours of sleep, and I anticipate that he will stretch that time out as the months go on!

Here are a couple of videos I took of him talking and smiling. I took these about a week ago or so.
