Judah has enjoyed the Christmas Tree this year. He loves the lights and the blanket underneath the tree! He even helped us decorate. (We made sure to put all soft ornaments with no metal hooks on the bottom of the tree...since these are the ones he can get to now that he army crawls everywhere.) Not quite able to actually crawl, but he's still really fast! He's been getting up on his hands and knees a lot lately and rocking and trying...so I expect it won't be long till he's in constant motion around our house. He is seriously so much fun, Nathan and I are having a blast right now!
This is seriously, one my favorite pictues ever...
In the beginning of December, we were strolling around the mall, and as we passed Santa, realized there wasn't one person in line...we we stepped right up and put Judah in Santa's lap. (He's the best looking Santa I've seen in a long time...and was really nice.) Judah was fascinated by his beard, and you can see in the picture, Santa had to hold his hand down, because he kept wanting to reach up and touch it! So cute!
A couple of days ago, I was surprised to see my little boy doing two new things. I knew it was coming soon, but I didn't realize that one day it would just happen. He is able to sit up on his own now. He still falls over now and then, especially if his attention is diverted to something on the ground or to the side of him, but when he's focused on playing with a toy in front of him, he will stay sitting for a long time.
He also is "somewhat" able to stand on his own while holding onto the couch or the table. Granted...he doesn't stand for long before falling over, but it still amazes me. Think about it...just a couple of months ago, we were amazed when he held up his head on his own. Now he's sitting up and standing on his own! My how the time flies!
About a week after Judah turned 6 months old, we began the journey of introducing solid food. He has done really well with it and seems to enjoy it. We aren't in any hurry with it and are starting off slow. So far, we've done Rice Cereal and Oatmeal Cereal. This weekend we will try some Avocado. We'll see how he likes that. I have been really surprised at how quickly he has learned to eat the food, though it is fun, how messy he gets, especially when he tries to grab the spoon and feed himself (really he just wants to chew on the spoon, but we can pretend he's advanced enough to feed himself!) He is actually getting the hang of it now and opens up real big in anticipation of each bite. Here are some pictures from those first couple of weeks...
